What better time to bring a Hot & Steamy festival to Port Douglas than February 2020?!
Brought to you by a group of LGBT locals wishing to show off our stunning home town, the Hot & Steamy festival will fill your calendar with multiple extraordinary events. Anyone who has visited Far North Queensland will know just how beautiful and balmy the tropics are at this time of year – there are always fewer crowds too which is a massive bonus.
February is now not too far away and all event tickets have been released, so it’s time to get planning! Let’s take a look at the main festivities that will be taking place in gorgeous PD from Friday 14th – Monday 17th February, 2020.
Long Lunch at Salsa Bar and Grill
Kick off the festival with a bang at the Taste in the Tropics lunch at the award-winning Salsa. From 12pm-3pm, tantalize your taste buds with fresh cocktails and incredible food. Tickets include a 3 course shared lunch and a welcome cocktail.
Sunset T Dance
Dance the night away at the iconic Sugar Wharf with spectacular views over the Coral Sea and Dickson’s Inlet. It’s a glorious setting for a groovy night supported by the talented DJs Just Andy, Thirsty & DJ Vincible.
Jimmy Rum’s is the only place to be from 11pm onwards on the opening night of Hot & Steamy. Tickets include a cocktail on arrival, and trust us – that won’t be the only delicious drink of the night!
Great Barrier Reef Day
Did you even visit the tropics if you didn’t see the GBR? Jump on board with Calypso Reef Tours for a remarkable day trip visiting two amazing sites. The party doesn’t stop here with alcoholic beverages available on the private charter!
Hello Sailor! Dance Party
This is the main party event for the festival and will be held at the Port Douglas Yacht Club. Dance beneath the palm trees all night long to the sweet sounds of DJ Scott Anderson!
Brunch at Choo Choo’s
All this celebrating will require a bit of fuel – Choo Choo’s at the Marina has you well and truly covered! Wake up slow on Sunday and treat yourself to a tasty selection of food and cocktails between 11am-1:30pm.
Bally Hooley Steam Train
From brunch, jump on the ‘gay train’ which is the historic Bally Hooley Steam train for an epic ride to the final night of festival shenanigans…
Soaked Pool Party
Finish the weekend off at the scenic Niramaya restaurant and pool! There will be an abundance of food, drinks and good vibes from 2pm-7pm.
